Collinsville
ISD Receives Rating Of Superior Achievement
The Collinsville School
District has achieved a rating of Superior
Achievement from the Texas Education Agency. “Receiving the highest rating
given by the state speaks volumes about financial integrity of Collinsville.
When you consider all the paperwork and reporting requirements required
by the state, getting a rating this high is quite an accomplishment. It speaks volumes about our employees who
deal with purchase orders, purchasing and related items. We are fortunate to have an excellent finance
officer in Mrs. Karen Shotwell who helps to make sure we take care of all the
details.”, said Collinsville Superintendent Tim Wright.
Schools FIRST is a financial
accountability system for school districts developed by the Texas Education in
1999. The goal of the rating system is to achieve quality performance in the
management of school districts’ finances. The accountability system was enacted
in 2003.
The superior achievement rating is
the state’s highest, showing the quality of Collinsville ISD’s financial
management and reporting system.
“We are pleased that our district
has received a superior financial rating,” said Karen Shotwell, CISD financial
officer. “We will continue to strive for excellence and accountability in an
effort to better serve the taxpayers and community.”
