     A regular meeting of the Collinsville Independent School District Board of Trustees was held on Monday,

 October 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office, 500 Reeves Street, Collinsville, Texas.

     The meeting was called to order by President, Grady Fails.

     Quorum was established with the following members present:  Johnny Lee Godsey, Donita Byrom, Darryl Carney,  Larry Kittrell, Randy Adams, and Grady Fails.  Mindy Kerr was absent at this time.  Others present were:  Superintendent, Tim Wright; High School Principal and Technology Director, Ken Kemp; Elementary Principal, Cindy Brown; Athletic Director, Danny David; Business Manager, Karen Shotwell, Carrie Lewter, Mr. and Mrs. Freddy Vest, Mark Teel, Wayne McCorkle, Lisa VanHooser, John Lahr, Brandon White, Gary Sorrell, and Dennis Eichelbaum.


Invocation:  Invocation was given by Tim Wright. 


Citizen Participation:  Mark Teel addressed the Board concerning the dress code.  Mr. Vest told the Board that he appreciated the way the school and the community had treated his family. 


Minutes:  A motion was made by Darryl Carney and seconded by Johnny Lee Godsey to approve the minutes of the September 18, 2006, regular meeting.  The motion carried 6-0.


Financial Review:  Mr. Wright reviewed the finances with the Board.    


Activity Account Signatures:  A motion was made by Johnny Lee Godsey and seconded by Larry Kittrell to approve the resolution from Independent Bank to remove Neal Harrison and add Kenyon Kemp as a signature for the Student Activity Account.  The motion carried 6-0.


2005-06 Fiscal Audit:  A motion was made by Johnny Lee Godsey and seconded by Darryl Carney to approve the 2005-06 fiscal audit as presented.  The motion carried 6-0.


Administrators Reports:


            Ken Kemp reported as Technology Director that technology is running at 100%.  Mr. Kemp informed the Board that we have a national scholar at the high school.    

            Cindy Brown reported about the Fall Festival that is coming up.    

            Danny David reported that football and volleyball are going well.   


Enrollment:  Total enrollment for the district is 632 with 346 in elementary and 286 in high school.


Legal Counsel:  Dennis Eichelbaum did a presentation for the Board about his firm. 

A motion was made by Johnny Lee Godsey and seconded by Darryl Carney to approve Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd, and Joplin as the District’s Attorneys.  The motion carried 6-0.


Sports Complex:  The Board discussed the Sports Park with some of the City Council members.


Mr. Wright discussed the Bus incident on highway 377 and the bus repairs to bus #4.  Mr. Wright discussed the need for an additional maintenance person and the need for a LVN.


    Adjourn:  A motion was made by Johnny Lee Godsey and seconded by Larry Kittrell  to adjourn at 8:15 p.m.  The motion carried 6-0.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. by President, Grady Fails with six members present and Mindy Kerr absent.  There were no objections.
