With 22 years in education and 17 years as a professional school counselor, our high school counselor brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and dedication to supporting students.
She earned her undergraduate degrees in English and Communications, along with a master’s degree in English, from Midwestern State University. She later earned a master’s degree in Behavioral and Crisis Counseling from Wayland Baptist University and became certified in school counseling.
Throughout her career in education, she has taught a wide range of subjects, including English, speech, debate, journalism, yearbook, and newspaper. Her experiences in the classroom opened her eyes to the growing need for mental health support among students and inspired her to pursue specialized training in behavioral counseling and school counseling. Today, she is passionate about using that knowledge and experience to help students navigate academic, personal, and emotional challenges while preparing for their futures.
One of her favorite reminders comes from Eleanor Roosevelt: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” She also embraces Maya Angelou’s timeless words: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Her goal is to make every student feel seen, supported, and encouraged to believe in what is possible for their future.
